Words of Love

There are so many creative ways to express words of love - poetry,  music, sky writing, once upon a time people carved their names in trees, though I am not a supporter of this as I am a self declared tree hugger!
There are hundreds of other ways people can express words of love. My favorite's are the little ways in which we express our love. We can give a compliment to someone we care about, or to a random stranger, we can give someone a huge smile and a hello, my top favorite is we can say 'Thank you" thank you for friendship, for holding the door open, for being a great parent, sibling, grandparent, teacher.
There are so many things to be thankful for in this world if we take the time to look.

Today I challenge you to pour out your words of love and watch the beauty of a simple gesture change someone's day.

It is not simply enough to not use hurt words you have to replace those with words of love.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me.

No Hurt Words

Welcome to the very first blog post on No Hurt Words! This is an exciting and heartfelt adventure that I am embarking on. I hope that you will join me in choosing a life where you live without hurtful words towards others. It is a decision that we have to make every day to eliminate the hurt words that bring pain to others. I know it sounds easy but it takes commitment to take a step back from a volatile situation, take a breathe, re-group,  and carry on without lashing out.  It is not easy to always be the bigger person in the situation. This is a challenge that is going to at times really push your limits. If you stumble with the challenge remember life is a minute at a time, there is always tomorrow but just as powerful as tomorrow is your next minute. How many words can you speak in a minute? Will you use words of kindness or will you use your words as weapons? People who say words are not weapons are in denial. Do you remember the last thing you were wearing when someone complimented you? Do you remember where you were the last time someone insulted you? I do, words are powerful. They build us up and they can tear us down. 'No Hurt Words" is a life philosophy that we will only build each other up.
